The picture below was sent by Clifford A. Elrath whose father was in the First Naval Beach Battalion, LST 384 Company B 4th platoon. His father died on July 4, 1976 while he was serving in the Navy himself. He became a Corpsman mostly because of a few stories his father told him.

He was only 18 when his dad passed away and didn't have the opportunity to know who he was . Here is a picture of his Dad and a couple of shipmates. If anyone knew or was stationed with his dad he would appreciate very much if they could e-mail him with a photo or a story. "Thanks.  He's gone but not forgotten."
